Current Initiatives

Dorchester Dream Park

The Dorchester Dream Park Committee was formed in 2021 out of a desire to bring an accessible playground to Dorchester. After much hard work and planning, the Municipality of Thames Centre approved the construction of this park for summer 2022.

If you would like to donate towards this park, you can donate now by sending a cheque to: Municipality of Thames Centre, 4305 Hamilton Road, Dorchester, ON, N0L 1G3

Please indicate "Playground Donation" on the memo line of your cheque, with official donation receipts issued for any donations received.

Past Initiatives

Dorchester Dog Day Park

The Dorchester Dog Day Park was an initiative of the Thames Centre Dog Day Park Advisory Committee which was formed out of a school project by a group of high school students at Lord Dorchester Secondary School in 2019. It is located at the Thames Centre Outdoor Recreation Complex. The park opened in August 2020.

Dorchester Skate Park

The Dorchester Skate Park was an initiative by Austen Berlet, a local Lord Dorchester Secondary School student in 2004. It is located at the Community Park by the Flight Exec Centre.
